The need for bringing families together in worship and fun is met by our Family Life Ministry. No matter how your family unit is made up, we have something for you. Family involvement is welcomed and encouraged by our many planned special events held throughout the year.
EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AT KBC
Upward Basketball and Cheerleading
This sports ministry, for kindergarten—6th grade boys and girls, seeks to develop the self-esteem of each child while teaching sportsmanship, character, athleticism, and respect for authority in all situations. Upward is a 10 week program and runs from January through March of each year. Registration open October 1. Tryouts are in December.
Basketball Camp
Kempsville Baptist offers kids, ages K-6th grade, an opportunity to learn basketball each summer during the last two weeks of July. Kids can learn about basketball and meet other kids from their neighborhood and community, all based within a Christian atmosphere.
Thanksgiving Dinner
The Tuesday before Thanksgiving our church family takes part in a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone is invited to break bread with God’s people and gather afterward for a Thanksgiving service. There is a small cost per person for dinner. Serving begins at 5:00p and lasts until 6:00p. Our service begins approximately at 6:15p. Reservations and payment are required the Friday before. Please know that if you are unable to attend the meal, we would still love for you to join us for our service.
